Saint Andrews’s boys are the SPC 4A Champions!

Coached by Gilbert Tuhabonye, the St. Andrew’s boys cross-country ran to victory at the SPC 4A Championship on Saturday November 4 at Spring Creek Park in Tomball, TX. Every place counted as it was an incredibly tight race, both on the individual and team side.

St. Andrew’s had 57 total team points with St. John’s (61 team points) right behind to take second. Houston Episcopal finished third with 62 team points. John Cooper and St. Marks of Texas rounded out the top five.

St. Andrew’s senior William Dunaway captured first place individually in the 4A race, with a time of 16:01. Luke Dial (sophomore, 5th place) posted a 16:45 just ahead of Jake Gooch’s 16:49 (senior, 7th place). Reed Robinson (freshman, 12th place) clocked 17:09—all placing in the top 20 individually to receive All-Conference medals. William Sykes (senior), was the 5th team finisher (the top 5 go into the team score), coming in 35th place overall.

The St. Andrew’s Girls team ran a great race as well, coming in fourth place in the SPC 4A Division. behind Houston Episcopal, St. John’s, and Hockaday, in that order.

Kate Preheim (sophomore, 9th place in19:42) and Ava Sweeney (sophomore, 10th place in 19:42) received All-Conference by finishing in the top 20. St. Andrew’s assistant coaches are Liz Shelton and Cindy Albach.
